They are here to offer more than just a resume critique - they provide career advice, professional development guidance, and authentic support you need to navigate the unique challenges of our community. Dive in, find your guide and start building your future with confidence.
Our Approach
Cultural Experiences: We don’t believe in one-size fits all advice because we all have different experiences. We understand the cultural dynamics - such as navigating family expectations or breaking the bamboo ceiling that influences the Asian professional experience.
Accessible Knowledge: We bridge the gap by making industry experts reachable to ensure insider knowledge is no longer gate kept but a shared community resource.
Actionable Growth: Mentorship isn’t just coffee chats. We focus on tangible outcomes from mastering a skill to developing the soft skills needed for leadership.
We Care: We believe that growth requires vulnerability. We foster a safe space where mentees can be honest about their fears, mistakes and goals without judgment.
We’re more than just a conversation, this is a connection that gets it
Finding a mentor isn’t about checking a box on your career to-do list; it’s about finding a guide that speaks your language - culturally, professionally, and personally. We believe that the best growth happens when you have someone who gets it.
You may often feel like you’re carrying so much weight and pressure to excel
In our community, we often feel the pressure and weight to excel and the nuance of navigating family expectations or the challenge of being the only person who looks like us in the room. When you find a mentor through our directory, you aren’t just getting an expert, you’re gaining:
Shared Lived Experiences: Connect with someone who has navigated the same "bamboo ceilings" and cultural crossroads you're facing right now.
Comfort of Being Understood Because No One Gets It: Your mentor understands the values you hold and the specific hurdles that come with our identity.
A Safe Space: Finally, a space where you can be open and honest about your dreams and your fears with someone who has been exactly where you are.
Bridge Across Generations: Benefit from the "blueprint" of those who came before you, so you can build your own path even higher.
It’s About Being Seen: We often look for mentors to tell us how to do something, but the most powerful mentorship happens when someone shows us who we can become. You’re here because you’re ready for the next level, and you deserve a mentor who sees your potential not just as a student or an employee, but as a whole person.
Your Journey, Your Pace
We’ve built a searchable mentor directory to give you the freedom to explore the diverse career paths and reach out to mentors who truly inspire you. Because you know your goals best, you take the lead on making the connection and setting the schedule.
How to Find a Mentor
Finding the right mentor is all about finding someone who understands and gets you. Think of our directory as a foundational step towards your career journey and this is your space to find a guide who can help you navigate your path. Here is a guide on how to find a mentor:
-
As you browse the directory, look for stories that resonate with your own. Whether it’s their specific industry, a skill they’ve mastered, or a career pivot they navigated. Start with the mentors who inspire your next “big question.”
-
Use our filters to find mentors who have been where you are and where you want to be. Whether you are looking for someone who is just a few steps ahead of you or more far along in their career, you have the tools to find your mentor.
-
We believe the best mentorships are built on chemistry. That’s why we start every connection with a brief, low-pressure conversation. It’s a chance to introduce yourself, share your goals and ensure the partnership feels right for both of you.
-
When you find someone who feels like a great fit, send them a message. Our mentors are part of this community because they are dedicated to supporting the next generation of Asian leaders - they are ready and waiting to hear from you.
The Mentee Code of Conduct
To get the most out of your experience, we ask mentees to:
Be Proactive: You take the first step in reaching out and scheduling.
Punctuality: Respect your mentor’s schedule by showing up on time.
Honesty & Transparency: Be willing to hear constructive feedback and new perspectives.
Be Kind: A simple "thank you" note after a session goes a long way in building a lasting professional bond.

-
Our community is designed specifically for high school students, undergraduate students, and early career professionals within the Asian community who are looking for guidance, representation, and career growth.
-
There is no cost to access the directory and consultation calls are completely free.
-
Look for someone who is currently in a role you aspire to be, or someone who has navigated a challenge you are currently facing. Don’t worry about finding a perfect match - focus on someone whose story resonates with you.
-
Think of it as a friendly introduction. You’ll share a bit about yourself, goals, and the mentor will explain how they can help. It’s a low pressure way to see if your personalities click before scheduling a full session.
-
That is entirely up to you and your mentor. Some pairs may want to meet once a month, while others connect at a different basis. You’ll decide on a pace that works for both of your schedules during your initial chat.
-
As a mentee, you are the driver of this experience! It is up to you to reach out, propose meeting times, and send the calendar invites. Taking the lead on logistics is a great way to practice professional initiative. You don’t need a formal presentation, but you should come with one or two specific questions or a goal you’d like to discuss. Mentorship is most effective when the mentor knows exactly how they can support you.
-
Our mentors love helping anyone! You can ask about how they chose their major, what their first job was like or even how they balance their cultural identity with their professional life. No question is too small!
-
Once you find a mentor, directly contact them using the contact button. Be sure to include a short, friendly note about why you are interested in connecting with them specifically. Not sure where to start? Here is our outreach template to get you started.
-
Our mentors are all volunteers and can sometimes get busy. If you don’t hear back within a week, don’t take it personally! Feel free to reach out to another mentor in the directory who fits your needs or follow up. Sometimes things get lost in spam or get buried!
-
Absolutely! Different mentors offer different perspectives. You might have one mentor for technical skills and another for leadership or soft skill guidance.
-
We ask that you stay curious, be respectful of your mentor's time, and follow through on any "homework" or action items you discuss. Most importantly, be yourself—authentic connection is where the best growth happens. There is no set requirement, but we recommend being consistent. Whether it’s 30 minutes once a month or a quick check-in every six weeks, the goal is to build a steady relationship rather than a one-off conversation.
