Program Overview
CareerLAB is a free 12-week fellowship virtual program specifically designed for Asian high school students, undergraduate college students, and early career professionals. Our mission is to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional excellence by providing real-world work experience and essential development skills. We aren’t just a course; it's a simulated corporate environment where you own your growth. Over 12 weeks, you will see fellows learn:
Take Ownership: Manage actual projects from conception to launch.
Build Infrastructure: Learn to navigate corporate politics, set boundaries, and master professional communication.
Bridge the Gap: Tackle the "Bamboo Ceiling" by developing authentic leadership styles.

Program Duration: 12 weeks, Virtual - Remote

Each week, as a workshop speaker you will teach key topics that will include:
Strategic Communication: Navigating difficult conversations, public speaking, and digital etiquette.
Personal Infrastructure: Overcoming imposter syndrome and performing "Time and Energy Audits".
Corporate Navigation: Mastering performance reviews and understanding office power dynamics.
Note: 1 Speaker for Each Topic. There will be 12 speakers total once a week for 12 weeks.

As a Workshop Speaker you will be choosing any topic that falls within the prompt given to you on the topic of focus. You’re in charge of creating content to present and teach to the fellows during the week you are assigned. You will be required to attend trainings and rehearsals, attend the workshop itself and submit content for review by our team to ensure alignment, proper planning and preparation for the program.

To ensure a high-impact experience, workshop speakers are expected to commit to:
Time: 1 hour to teach the workshop, 1-2 hours per week to respond async to fellow
Communication: Be able via email/slack for any async communication for the fellows and the ACH team. Respond within a timely manner.
Meetings: Attend the trainings and rehearsals

We are committed to building a resource for fellows and a space for workshop speakers to stay in touch. Upon completion, workshop speakers will receive:
Network Access: Entry into our exclusive alumni network and continued access to our mentor directory + past cohorts.
Opportunity to Support CareerLAB: You will have opportunities to contribute and be a workshop speaker again! OR opportunities to support the program team / partner with ACH to ensure success of the program.
Opportunity to Be Career Support: High-performing fellows may receive letters of recommendation, referrals, or opportunities for future employment with ACH.

The CareerLAB program runs annually from June to August.
Recruitment: Applications typically open between January and March.
Selection: Workshop Speakers meet with ACH team members to discuss topics and deadlines + program overview. Will receive communication and program materials to move forward with planning and preparation. organizational need. Are you ready to support the next generation of Asian leaders?

Only requirement due to the capacity of the team, we are only accepting speakers within the U.S and Canada. We are flexible if you have experience with what CareerLAB focuses on and bonus if you have worked with HS students, college students (undergrad) and early career professionals.

No cost at all! This is a completely free program. You would be volunteering your time :)

Unlike standard internships that often involve "busy work," CareerLAB is built on a high-accountability, high-impact model:
A Simulated Corporate Ecosystem: We don't just give you tasks; we simulate a real corporate structure. You will learn to navigate office culture, manage power dynamics, and handle performance reviews just as you would in a company.
The "Impact Report": Instead of a generic certificate, you leave with a quantified report of your "proof of work". This includes your project completion rate, goal attainment, and mastery of core behaviors like feedback integration.
Breaking the "Bamboo Ceiling": Our curriculum is specifically tailored for Asian leaders. We provide a framework for navigating cultural barriers to promotion, practicing authentic leadership, and commanding a room as a soft-spoken or introverted leader.
Actual Project Ownership: Every project you work on is an actual initiative intended for launch. You aren't just "helping out"; you are owning a project from start to finish within a 12-week timeframe.
Infrastructure for Longevity: We focus on "Personal Infrastructure"—teaching you how to conduct time and energy audits, set professional boundaries, and manage the internal critic of imposter syndrome.
